Export, search and organise your X likes

X will give you your likes as a file. Curatively turns that file into saves you can search, with the link to each post and its text.

From X to your vault

  1. Request your archive from X

On x.com open Settings, choose Your account, then Download an archive of your data. X takes hours to days to prepare it, then you download a ZIP from the same page.

  2. Open Import in the app

In the Curatively iPhone app, open Account, choose Import from another app and pick the ZIP. If it is too big for the phone to open, unzip it and pick data/like.js instead. It is the only file Curatively reads.

  3. Check the preview

Curatively shows what it found before it saves anything. Choose the vault the likes go to, then import.

  4. Search and organise

Each like is a private save with its link to the post and the text of the post. With AI processing on, saves are catalogued from that text, so you can search by describing what you remember. Free includes an allowance; Plus catalogues everything.

What the import keeps, and what it cannot

Kept

  • The link to every liked post.
  • The text of the post.
  • A date for each save: when the post was published, worked out from its id.
  • Everything private. Imported saves start private, and posts you already have are skipped.
  • Undo. When it finishes, Undo this import removes the whole batch.

Not in the archive

  • When you liked it. X does not put that in the archive, so the date is the post’s, not yours.
  • Images and video. The likes file has text and a link only.
  • The author as its own field.
  • Bookmarks. X leaves them out of the archive, so there is nothing for any tool to import.

Questions

How do I export my X likes?

Open Settings on x.com, choose Your account, then Download an archive of your data. When X has prepared it you download a ZIP. Your likes are in data/like.js inside it. A large archive splits the file into like-part1.js, like-part2.js and so on.

Does the X archive include my bookmarks?

No. The archive holds your likes but not your bookmarks, so no importer can read them from it.

Does Curatively keep the date I liked a post?

No. X does not export the date of a like. Curatively dates each save by when the post was published, which it works out from the post’s id.

Can I import X likes on the web or Android?

Not yet. Importing is in the Curatively iPhone and iPad app, under Account, then Import from another app. Once imported, your saves are in your vault on the web too.

Can I undo an import?

Yes. Right after an import finishes, choose Undo this import to remove everything it saved.

Does it cost anything?

Saving and importing are free. Plus catalogues everything you save and makes room for more than three vaults, for $24.99 a year or $59.99 once. The free plan includes a cataloguing allowance.

Give your likes somewhere to go.

Free to save. Plus is $24.99 a year or $59.99 once.
