The Curatively MCP server
Your vault, readable by Claude, Cursor and other MCP assistants, as you. Ask for the green chair you saved in June, or tell one to build a screen in the style of a dashboard you saved.
What it does
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for an AI app to call tools outside the chat. Curatively’s server gives an assistant tools to search your vault in your own words, read a save with its image, list your latest saves, browse by format, source or colour, and find saves close to another.
It signs in as you, so the assistant sees what you see, including saves that are not on your public page. A connection is read only unless you choose Read and save when you connect. Nothing it can do publishes or deletes your saves. Every tool is free on every plan.
Finding a save by its tags, colours or description depends on the catalogue. Plus catalogues everything you save; a free account has a cataloguing allowance.
Add it to your assistant
Claude Desktop
The simplest route is the connector: add a custom connector in Claude with the address https://curatively.io/api/mcp, press Connect and allow access. It is then in Claude on the web, the desktop app and your phone. The connect page opens the form with Curatively filled in.
claude_desktop_config.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"curatively": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "curatively-mcp"] }
}
}To run the server on your own computer instead, sign in once with npx -y curatively-mcp login, then add this to claude_desktop_config.json and restart Claude Desktop.
Claude Code
Add the remote server, then run /mcp inside Claude Code, choose curatively and pick Authenticate.
Remote
claude mcp add --transport http curatively https://curatively.io/api/mcpTo use the local package instead, run npx -y curatively-mcp login and then:
claude mcp add curatively -- npx -y curatively-mcpCursor
Use Add to Cursor on the connect page, or add the server by hand to .cursor/mcp.json (or the global file). Cursor then asks you to sign in.
.cursor/mcp.json

You need a Curatively account first; sign up in the iPhone app. Then run the login command. It prints a short code and a link. Approve it on a device where you are already signed in, by opening curatively.io/pair or from Account in the app. The code lasts five minutes.
Prefer an email code? Add --email to the login command and enter the email of your Curatively account. The session is stored in ~/.curatively/credentials.json, readable only by you, and npx -y curatively-mcp logout revokes it.

What is the Curatively MCP server?
It is a Model Context Protocol server that lets an AI assistant search and read the saves in your Curatively vault as you. It runs remotely at curatively.io/api/mcp, or locally as the curatively-mcp package on npm.
Does it cost anything?
No. Every MCP tool is free on every plan. Searching by tags, colours and descriptions depends on the catalogue, which Plus extends to everything you save.
Can an assistant change or delete my saves?
It cannot publish or delete a save. A connection is read only unless you choose Read and save, which also lets it save links, photos and notes, edit the note you wrote on a save, and create vaults. You can change a connection’s access or disconnect it in Account, under AI tools.
Which assistants work with it?
Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, ChatGPT where custom MCP apps are available, and any other app that takes a remote MCP server.
Remote or local: which should I use?
Use the remote server for apps that connect to a URL, such as Claude and ChatGPT. Use the local package if you prefer a process on your own computer. Both offer the same tools.
Let your assistant work from your references.
Free to connect. You need a Curatively account.
