Questions about Curatively, the design inspiration vault
What it does, what it costs and what happens to your saves.
What is Curatively?
Curatively is a vault for design inspiration. Save images, links and notes into private vaults on iPhone, iPad and the web. With AI processing on, each save gets a description, tags and colours, so you can find it later by describing it. AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can read a vault you point them at.
Is Curatively the same app as Curately?
No. Curatively, at curatively.io, is a vault for saving design inspiration. It isn’t connected to apps with similar names.
Which devices does Curatively work on?
There’s an app for iPhone and iPad on the App Store, and the same vault on the web at curatively.io. There’s no Android app. Your vault is also reachable from AI tools that support MCP.
Can I import saves from another app?
Yes. In the iPhone app, open Account, then Import from another app. Curatively reads exports from Are.na, mymind, Sublime, Cosmos and Pinterest, your X likes, browser bookmarks and a Curatively export. You can also paste a public Are.na channel link. Imported saves start private, and you can undo an import.
How does Curatively use AI, and is my vault private?
With your permission, AI adds descriptions, tags and colours to your saves and makes search by description work. Before anything is sent, the app shows which providers receive what: Google (Gemini), Voyage AI and TypeSafe. You can turn AI processing off at any time in Account, and saving, viewing, exporting and deleting all work with it off. Curatively doesn’t use AI to identify people in your photos.
What is free, and what does Plus cost?
Saving is free with no limit on how much you keep. A free account can make up to three vaults and includes a cataloguing allowance, and every AI tool connection is free. Plus catalogues everything you save and makes room for more than three vaults. It costs $24.99 a year or $59.99 once, in US dollars; the App Store shows the price in your currency.
Is there a free trial of Plus?
Saving is free without a trial. On iPhone, when the App Store offers two free weeks on Plus yearly and your Apple ID is eligible, the app says so before you subscribe. Plus once is a single purchase and has no trial.
What happens if I stop paying for Plus?
You keep every save and every vault, and you can still export everything. New saves stop being catalogued beyond the free allowance, and making a vault past the third waits for Plus again.
Can I export my saves?
Yes, on any plan. Open Account and choose export to download your vault as a ZIP with a structured record of your saves and their images.
How do I delete my account?
Delete your account from the Account screen. That removes your profile, your vault, every save and every image straight away. Copies in backups expire within thirty days.
Can I share my saves?
Every save starts private. You can publish the saves you choose to your public page at curatively.io/yourname, and remove them again at any time. Publishing needs its own permission, and public saves go through a safety review.
Which AI tools can read my vault?
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and any other MCP client, through the server at curatively.io/api/mcp. A connection is read only unless you choose otherwise, and it can’t publish or delete your saves. It’s free on every plan.
